I've been to Retezat mountains many times until now, but I never reached to climb the Peleaga Peak, the highest peak in the Retezat Mountains in Romania. These mountains have the characteristics of the Alps, but at lower scale, highest peak is 2509 m. You will find here what you can find in the Alps at high altitude, Mont Blank, Matterhorn. So, I want to do this because is a challenge for me each time I go there, So I climb a peak each time, My highest peak untill now is Peak Retezat, 2485 m. And why not to make Romania knowned, that you can find some callenging and demanding mountains also here.Planning the peak climb.Friday, the first day, will be the day for the gathering, the team and the mountain guide from Mammut Alpine School. The first meeting will take place in Timisoara, in the mourning, at a coffee. Then we will leave to Hateg, and head to Retezat National Park, to the last village before entering the Park, Carnic. Here is where the Base camp will be set, at the Codrin Chalet (www.codrin.ro). For this day we are planning, after the check in, some surprises for Mammut, presentations from retezat mountains, some mammut items at night in front of a campfire, making of a Mammut Peak flag, for our climb, and other surprises.Saturday, the second day, will be the climbing day, we leave at 6 a.m. with the light of our headlamps, and head to the peak Peleaga, but we will go wild. we will climb on an unmarked terrain, wilder, nicer, with many landscapes, track descends to lake Galesul, and then we will climb to the crest, and head to Peleaga peak through the Bad Valley. After we have reached the Peleaga Peak, we will go Bucura Lake, and then to Rocks Valley, and head back to the Base Camp. We will arrive at arround 8.00 p.m. Sunday, the fird day, will be a day of recovery after the climbing day, and we will take the team and our guest from mammut, to see the Lands of Hateg, the Dinosaurs Geopark (maybe we will find remains of a MAMMUTH), the land of swamps, and other historical places and sightseeings that worth to see. Monday, is the day we head back home, but on our way home we will take a different route just because there are so many to see. With all these we will take pictures (allong our team will be a proffesional photographer) and create a movie with MAMMUT in Retezat mountains (National Park and Reservation), Romania.
